Health organizations call for prevention across government
Four science and health organizations want a coordinated prevention strategy reaching beyond healthcare.
In a statement dated 9 September 2026, Leopoldina, the German Science and Humanities Council, DKFZ and German Cancer Aid call for prevention to be built into education, employment, transport and urban planning.
Their proposals include healthier everyday environments and more accessible health information. This is a policy appeal, not a set of adopted measures or new healthcare entitlements.
